Caraway Students Participate in Hour of Code

As part of national Computer Science Education Week, which takes place December 4-10, Caraway students are participating in Hour of Code. Our students love coding so much, they are participating during the whole month of December

Hour of Code was started to encourage students to learn the basics of coding and show that anyone can code. Over 10 million students around the world have participated in Hour of Code. Coding helps nurture creativity and problem solving and builds a foundation of skills that will prepare students for any future career.

Students participate while visiting the Innovation Lab as well as time in their classroom.

Students can also practice coding at home using the website, Hourofcode.com.  It is a great resource for students at both home and school. Hour of code offers hundreds of activities for all ages. Activities require no experience and can run on any browser. Pre-K through second graders used an app called “Code-a-pillar” to program a caterpillar on many adventures!
